The Economics of Merger control
What we talk about when we talk about mergers Bruce Lyons - University of East Anglia Bruce Lyons is Professor of Economics and Deputy Director of the ESRC Centre for Competition Policy (CCP). He was formerly Editor of Journal of Industrial Economics and Associate Editor of Economica. He is a member of the Economic Advisory Group for Competition (to the European Commission), the Economics Reference Group (ERG) of the NHS Cooperation and Competition Panel, and the Scientific Board of the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO). He was a part-time Member of the UK Competition Commission (2002-11). His current research is focused on the economics of market structure and the economic analysis of competition policy; in particular on how the delegated objectives and organization of a competition authority affect remedies, outcomes and economic efficiency. Since 2001, he has given invited research papers in eleven countries, and held visiting research positions at the European University Institute and University of Melbourne. |
