Enrico Granata , who holds a law degree from La Sapienza University in Rome, is Director of General Counsel, responsible for the Legal, Regulatory and Tax Department at Associazione Bancaria Italiana (ABI). Before joining ABI in 1994, he worked as Head of the Legal Division at Istituto Mobiliare Italiano and previously he was Advisor of the Treasury Minister. He is member of the Executive Committee, Consumer Affairs and Legal Committee of the European Banking Federation, and member of the Board of the European Banking Industry Committee, where he is also Chairman of the Integration Working Group. He served on the Board of Directors of the State Railways Corporation and of various financial companies. He has been a member of the Commission for the Reform of Italian Bankruptcy Law at the Ministry of Justice and a member of other Ministerial Committees. He published several essays and articles in Italian and foreign law reviews and specialised press, on banking and financial legislation issues. He is also a regular speaker in forums, seminars and conventions on these topics.
