Cristiana VITALE - Lear


Cristiana is a senior consultant at Lear since 2005. Previously, Cristiana spent seven years working in the UK, first as a consultant at London Economics and then as an economic advisor for Oftel/OFCOM and OFT. In these roles Cristiana contributed to major regulatory interventions in the telecoms and media sector and the implementation of the EU Directives on the telecoms markets. She was also involved in many competition cases, market reviews and market studies. Since her joining Lear, Cristiana has managed two studies for the EU Commission, one on the ex-post evaluation of merger decisions and another on the development of an empirical methodology for the evaluation of the effectiveness of different competition policy regimes in deterring anticompetitive behaviours and fostering productivity. She has advised on a number of cases of cartels and abuses of dominance, as well as on mergers, in a variety of sectors, assisting, among others, Shell, Unilever, Wind, and Procter. She has also contributed to a project on the assessment of the cost of erroneous antitrust interventions for the OFT. Cristiana graduated magna cum laude in Economics at Bocconi University and has a MSc from the London School of Economics. Since 2003 she has been lecturing at the Master in Competition and Regulation of the University Federico II, Napoli.
